I never worked for anybody, so I thought: why not starting my own construction company? By 2018 me and my thesis partner were employing over 160 people in our organization, with an annual revenue of over 10 million US dollars annually.

Then an economic crisis hit Argentina.

The situation changed quickly and suddenly my wife got transferred to Australia for work. Every three months I would go visit her and little by little by little I realized the need to move to a more stable country than Argentina. In 2019 I married my wife and I finally decided to move to Australia with her to search for new and better work opportunities.

The first thing I tried was to search for a job that unfortunately I could not find. After some time I sat down and I thought: what are my strengths? I gave myself some time and I came to the realization that I was always successful in building strong teams. And so I did.

I started this new adventure called Leanmote with an objective in mind: to connect people in the company. There was always this very big issue in my previous company: a disconnection between people on the construction site and people in the office. The managers were never sure about what was happening at the construction site while the workers never knew the timeline associated with the construction of the building. Such issues resulted in a decrease in productivity and loss of potential revenue. All because of the uncertainty associated with the construction site and the apparent disconnection between employees and managers.

Today we are a startup willing to empower managers with real-time data and evidence-based tools to help them establish a coaching culture at work. At the same time, we want to empower employees to work in their zone of optimal performance by leveraging systemic well-being data collected through our platform.

Even though today our solution does not fit within the construction industry, it really feels fair to bring it up since it gave me the idea to start Leanmote. Our goal is to make the workplace a much safer environment where employees and manager can optimize their work without the fear of burning out.

Story written by Heng Yang

I have never worked for someone. After I graduated in Argentina, I entered the construction industry, and I was self-employed. My self-employment lasted for about 8 years; I had worked in construction companies as an operations manager or a director. The frequent economic crisis in Argentina finally made me decided to move to another country that has a relatively stable environment. My wife and I moved to Sydney, but then I was facing another difficulty. The job-hunting process was competitive, and I was having a hard time finding a job. Finally, I decided to start a business, as I had the decent experience of self-employing. When I was choosing what kind of business should I start, an idea sparked in my mind. When I was working in the construction industry, I often find the office and the workforce having communication problems and that was causing some mismatch in the tasks and actual actions. The management team may neglect the employee’s problems, and the workforce’s well-being and performance are undervalued. In the working environment, it is not all about work and business, there is so much more stuff to consider other than those. I believe we have to consider that people need to come first, think about the family, where humans first, and then, we’re professionals. With this in mind, I decided to do something to create a better work environment, where the workforce can feel the managers are caring about them and giving them support. However, the unexpected pandemic started, and the world turned into lockdown mode. Many things are switched online, and this condition made me decided to develop software that companies can use even when they are working virtually. To some extent, it is even harder for the managers to be aware of their employee’s conditions if they are not meeting each other. I want to let my venture be a support for the employees, a reference, and an alarm for the managers. By incorporating my product into the work environment, I want to help the firms to build a better atmosphere and a coaching culture. That is how Leanmote is envisioned and created. My team and I are developing and optimizing our software and app, and we are keen to distribute our product and service to the market. I hope the workforce’s well-being and performance will be properly valued and the work environment will be more humanistic.

Story written by Fei Liang

I’m Diego Giron from Leanmote company. I create Leanmote because I hope all people can work in an agile working environment and realize their well-being. My theory is that people can play a leading role in their work after coaching. They can flexibly adjust their work behaviour, and their performance is satisfied by the organization. In this way, they can achieve well-being. I found the staff in the office and staff in the construction site did not know each other’s working progress and requirements timely, which affected their productivity. Then I came out with an idea to create a tool to assist employees to work more efficiently. I set up Leanmote with my business partner. To make it works, I have racked my brains to search for more resources. I have cooperated with professionals, including advisers, a former HR manager from Brookfield, former CEOs, psychology experts, CTO from Atlassian. I also need a coach in automation. I think professionals can skillfully put what I am thinking in the Leanmote practices. What I am thinking is customer value. I mean in my mind, the system should be easy-to-use, evidence-based, people-centred, and performance-efficient. By the collaboration of me, my business partner, and the experts, we make a platform friendly to both organizations and their staff. The design of the platform stresses the user experience and user interface, so that users, like managers and staff can see the data, so they can make further evidence-based decisions. Moreover, the platform can help staff make self-leadership, and more self choices to interact with others, and managers can find employee performance can be enhanced every week. Leanmote has competitors because some rivals also care what we care about: well-being. It should be noticed that well-being is different from wellness, which is what I usually explain to customers. As mentioned before, I have experts to help me to offer innovative solutions for clients. Organizations usually find it hard to collect information from staff work from home due to the epidemic, so I take it as the opportunity to create Leanmote. I know there is a competitor People Matter Tech that offers a similar service to Leanmote, but the specific solution focus is different. Moreover, I think Leanmote solves privacy issues for users than its competitors. What I want to say is Leanmote is better than others.

www.leanmote.com Entrepreneurial journey told by three students Story written by Alessandro Boaria Back in Argentina, my home country, I studied civil engineering at the catholic university of Cordoba from 2010 until 2016.
